Each Year Evan Williams Master Distillers hand select barrels for this special edition with characteristics unique to that year. Every bottle is marked with the vintage date it was put into oak, along with the year it was bottled and the serial number of the barrel from which the Bourbon was drawn.
The signature Bourbon bearing the name of Rev Elijah Craig, a Bourbon pioneer who is credited with being the first distiller to age his whiskey in charred oak barrels.
Old Elk Blended Straight Bourbon Whiskey uses four times more malted barley than conventional recipes and a Slow Cut (tm) proofing process. This creates a rich, smooth flavor, in harmony with caramel cues evoked by charred barrels and spicy notes of rye.
